In Two Days, Prumo's Audit and Compliance Team Built and Tested Their Own AI Agents

Client

Prumo, Audit and Compliance Department

Participants

10 people, from interns to management

Format

2-day in-person immersion
1 business consultant + 2 AutoU developers
Tools: Microsoft Copilot + Power Automate

Outcome

4 production MVPs built + department empowered to create and test solutions autonomously

1. Context

Prumo's Audit and Compliance department shouldered a demanding manual workload during quarterly reporting cycles, which unfolded across intensive two-month windows involving disparate data sources and heavy clerical repetition.

Interns, analysts, and managers used Copilot exclusively through basic chat, unfamiliar with its broader automation capabilities. The team had already identified friction points across several routines, and enterprise tooling was available, but they lacked clear technical methodology to leverage it strategically.

2. How we did it

Given the team's focused size, we structured two full-day in-person sessions alternating conceptual exposition with direct implementation. The team assembled in a single room, each equipped with their laptop, supported continuously by two developers and a business consultant to resolve queries on the spot. Dates and pacing were tailored alongside Prumo leadership to minimize operational disruption.

The curriculum progressed from fundamental Copilot capabilities to developing advanced agents integrated with Power Automate, interleaving hands-on drills with conceptual reviews to anticipate questions. To maximize retention and deliver immediate workplace utility, four MVPs were engineered around high-priority workflows nominated by the team.

Data privacy and governance were embedded into the program's design. Sensitive information was never retained unnecessarily, and all corporate data adhered strictly to confidentiality tiers and enterprise compliance protocols.

3. Results

The workshop achieved exceptional engagement across all participants, delivering four functional agents ready for department deployment.

Before

After

• Reliant on repetitive manual processing during audit closings
• Used Copilot only as a chat prompt without automation knowledge

• Build and validate agents connected to Power Automate
• Deliver pre-tested solutions to IT for streamlined enterprise publication

Each team member engineered their own version of the MVPs based on the reference patterns provided in class, subsequently sharing agents across the team's environment. All participants exited with the autonomy to design new automations.

Developed MVP

What the agent accomplishes

Audit Prioritization

Populates risk-score matrices by ingesting files from a SharePoint repository

Audit Follow-Up

Monitors inbox triggers, logs audit findings into spreadsheets, and generates opinion summaries based on preset criteria

Background Check Agent

Assembles comprehensive background check reports from ingested candidate dossiers

Vacation Guide

Clarifies vacation policies and automates scheduling requests to managers via email

Following the immersion, AutoU delivered a technical evolution roadmap for the four MVPs, detailing direct integrations with systems like SAP Ariba, structured knowledge bases, multi-agent orchestration, and projected ROI estimates for each initiative.

Client feedback:

"I leave these two days with the feeling that we are opening doors to a new way of working: more analytical, more efficient, and much more connected to the future."
Rodrigo Guedes, Compliance Coordinator at Prumo

4. Key Learnings

The breakthrough delivered by the workshop was not simply more information—it was genuine capability. Audit already understood where bottlenecks existed; what they lacked was the technical know-how to turn that into working agents, and that is precisely what these two days accomplished.

The MVPs targeted workflows that actively weighed on the team's routine—such as drafting audit opinions and cross-referencing background checks—rather than generic course demos. Tackling a real pain point, rather than an abstract exercise, anchored engagement from start to finish.

The cohort ranged from interns to managers, and hands-on peer collaboration with immediate coaching bridged seniority differences, ensuring no one was left behind and empowering every participant to master agent building and transform their own processes.
